Alibuild on Ubuntu 22.04

Dear all,

Ubuntu 22.04 was released on April 21, 2022. Alibuild can be installed on Ubuntu 16.04 and 20.04, but fails on 22.04.
In particular, I get stuck at the step

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alisw/ppa

Which returns the error
The repository ‘Index of /alisw/ppa/ubuntu jammy Release’ does not have a Release file.

Does anyone have an idea when a version of Alibuild will be released that is compatible with Ubuntu 22.04?

Hi @Cas,

I think alisw didn’t add ppa:alisw/ppa to Ubuntu 22.04 repo yet. But, still, you can try pip install alibuild to proceed further.

Hello @Cas, all,

just curious if someone succeed to install and run normally ALICE software on ubuntu 22.04.
I’m thinking about system upgrade (20.04 → 22.04) but afraid of possible difficulties with ALICE software compilation and installation after it.

Since the bump proposal of alidist Updated VMC packages versions: by ihrivnac · Pull Request #4353 · alisw/alidist · GitHub has gone through, I managed to install O2 on Ubuntu 22.04
