Installing aliBuild on Ubuntu - PPA or pip?

Hi,

which is the recommended way at the moment to install aliBuild on Ubuntu? Prerequisites for Ubuntu · ALICE Analysis Tutorial suggests PPA, but that is on version 1.8.9 while with pip its 1.9.1. Can the PPA be updated? Or should one rather use pip?

I will update the PPA. The issue is that due to the procedure requiring signing the packages, it is still done by hand.
