Hi everyone,
In CMS analyses, jet identification often involves applying a set of cut-based criteria and using specific jet discriminator parameters, especially for tasks like quark/gluon discrimination. These parameters are often derived from jet shapes, energy profiles, or machine learning classifiers.
In ALICE, I’m curious about the approach to jet identification:
- Does ALICE use any kind of jet discriminator parameter to define or classify jets?
- Are there any ML-based scores, likelihood variables, or other distinguishing quantities similar to CMS?
- Or is jet presence and identification purely based on standard criteria like energy thresholds, jet radius R, and jet finding algorithms (e.g., anti-kT)?
If anyone has experience with this or can point me to a relevant analysis or paper, that would be super helpful
Thanks in advance!
